A beer made with milk - called Bilk - went on sale in Hokkaido. One potential benefit is that it'll get rid of some of the prefectures's surplus milk supply.
It was alleged that producers of the scandal-tainted natto program on Kansai TV, which last month inaccurately claimed the food could help with weight loss, mistranslated the Japanese subtitles of an overseas interview to make it sound like natto could also help reverse the affects of aging. They apparently did similar tricks to say miso soup and lemon could make you thinner, red beans make you more clever, and wasabi makes you look younger.
